Big Game Trophy Hunts

Scenic View Ranch is located in beautiful North East Iowa.  The Yellow River, the fastest running river in Iowa, flows right through the ranch and is stocked with 200,000 trout a year.  Towering rock walls, caves, brush, woods & meadows is what makes this unique from all the rest.  You will wear out your bacon hunting a wild hog.

We offer wild hogs, rams, bull elk, whitetail deer, buffalo, and some exotics as available. Guests are welcome to try their skills at fishing the Yellow River for trout.  The DNR requires a trout stamp.

No License Needed. Bring the weapon of your choice.  Our attorney requires a signed waiver of liability before hunting.

Scenic View Ranch is owned and operated by Lloyd Johanningmeier and son Rex.  We welcome visitors by appointment.

We have recently built a new lodge.  It has a fully equipped kitchen, large deck overlooking the Yellow River, and a living area to rest up or play cards.  You can reserve the Lodge when you book your hunt, just let Lloyd know when you will be staying.  There is an affordable per person charge.

Other Services: You are welcome to field dress your own game here at the ranch or Rex would be happy to do it for you.  He is quick with a knife and appreciates the tips.

There is a local locker to process your game and they are very reasonable and accommodating.

The historical towns of Marquette and McGregor provide some interesting shopping; antiques, winery, old fashioned general stores, and of course the casino.

Effigy Mounds State Park and Yellow River Forest Park are just a short distance from the ranch.
